Our photographer, Laurie Denney, took some pictures of us this Fall in Manito Park in the south hill of Spokane. She always does such a great job and these are just a small sample of all the great shots she got for us. My favorites are the ones of the kids playing in the leaves just having a good time.
Our biggest update for this blog is we would like to announce our coming addition arriving sometime around April 10. I am a little over 14 weeks now and our ultrasound last week proved that everything is moving along well. Teagan has requested a brother and Landry is just excited to have a new baby (and be the big sister). Other than being very tired and hungry the first trimester I am very fortunate that I don't get morning sickness (to all my mom friends that do get it I know you are cursing my name and I understand :-). Now that I am in my second trimester I am actually getting my house put back together and getting some extra things done, like updating the blog. I will keep you posted as things progress and keep us in your prayers for an uneventful next six months and a healthy baby.
Along with all the comfort food that comes with this time of year, I love harvesting all the food from the garden and farms. Our garden wasn't nearly as good this year because of the short summer weather we had, but we still managed to get zucchini, basil, carrots, broccoli, cucumbers, radishes, butternut squash, and rhubarb. Teagan is holding one of the biggest zucchini we found in the garden.
We just finished our box of Honeycrisp apples that we bought from a local farm (they were SO good) and the kids helped me make a big batch of raspberry jam to enjoy through winter. 
One sunny Sunday morning I decided we better try the Hiawatha bike trail before it closed for the winter. It is located at the Idaho/Montana border and follows about 15 miles of an old railroad line complete with tunnels and trestles. My optimism began to wane about half way down the trail but we managed to finish the ride and had a "mostly good time". The terrain was much bumpier than I would have thought which made poor Landry's ride in the trailer pretty rough. Teagan made it most of the way on his bike and only wrecked a couple times. When he tired out we just bungie corded his bike to the back of the trailer and he rode with Landry. We were quite the little crew and Trevor eventually had to ride ahead to catch the last shuttle to the truck. We were glad we tried it, but were very glad to be done. I don't think we'll be back on this adventure until the kids are much older.
Teagan is now in Kindergarten and although he is only going in the afternoons it still feels like we are part of the school schedule now. After 5 years of relative freedom it has been an adjustment for all of us. We've had our ups and downs with the transition, but overall he is loving school and his teacher, Mrs. Griffith. Trevor and I just started volunteering one day a week so it is nice to be in the classroom and getting to know the teacher and his classmates. 
This year I am doing a one day a week class with Landry at the same preschool Teagan went to. It is a parent/toddler class and allows her to get used to a school setting with me being close by. Parents meet in the hall while the kids play and do art with the teachers. There is nothing cuter than 12 little 2 years olds and Landry is loving that she has school too.
It was hard to say goodbye to summer this year because we are now on a school schedule for the first time in 5 years. We had such a busy, fun filled summer that I don't think we wasted a second. Here are some pics of the things we did before school started.
