Boise Zoo is the perfect size for small children and they just renovated a large section that turned out great. We went early to beat the heat and saw a lot of animals before they hid from the 100 degree heat.

It's not every day you get to ride a zebra and a baby elephant.
Teagan transformed into a fox and turtle and Landry made friends with the Meerkats.

Boise Discovery Center
There are so many things to explore here and Teagan and Landry ran through the exhibits enjoying every moment. Teagan's favorite was the bubble pully where he made a giant bubble and Landry loved the vet station filled with stuffed animals.

Boise friends
It has been almost 3 years since we had been back to visit Boise. It was much too long and was so nice to catch up with friends and reexplore the area.
We never have time to see everyone that we want to see and didn't take nearly enough pictures, but here's a few photos of our friends Nicole and Wayne Gehring and their 4 year old triplets, Morgan, Kendra and Parker.
It was great to be back in the fabulous city of Boise and reminded us how much we miss living there.

Thanks Waskos!
Our friends the Waskos were kind enough to open their home and let us stay for four nights in Boise. It was so nice to catch up with Jake and Jamie and getting to know their adorable kids, Jillian and Jonah. Having four kids under the age of 5 under one roof went pretty well and we look forward to the next time we can all get together again.

Sun Valley, Idaho
We spent two nights in Ketchum, ID a.k.a. Sun Valley. Teagan's definition of vacation is a hotel and a swimming pool so we had to be sure to fit that in somewhere. We enjoyed a couple of casual days wandering the streets of Ketchum, shopping and eating at some good restaurants. Trevor surprised me with a birthday cake to help celebrate my 33rd birthday and it was oh so yummy.
It was a great setting to enjoy some family time and it was nice to be back in the beautiful valley.

Redfish lake
After leaving Sun Valley we stopped at Redfish Lake in the Sawtooth mountains. It is a beautiful, crystal clear lake and the kids braved a quick dip in it's cold water before hitting the road for Hamilton.

Bitterroot Brewfest
The brewfest has grown quite a bit since we lived in Hamilton and features beer from local and regional breweries. It was a great place to meet up with everyone at once and a good time was had by all.
Trevor's chatting with Travis and Rebecca Spinder. The stories got better with each brew.

University of Montana Missoula
We made a quick stop at our old college stomping grounds to let the kids run around and to reminisce about our past life. It is such a beautiful campus and the weather was perfect.
It was a great pit stop before hitting the road one last time back to Spokane and home sweet home.

Little Grizzlies
We came home from our trip decked out in University of Montana Grizzly gear and to find that our garden had produced alot of zucchuni and green beans.

4th of July
Troy never disappoints for the 4th celebrations. The parade dished out plenty of candy and "entertainment" and the fireworks were spectacular.
Teagan loved the "hot rods".
Anna, Landry, Teagan, and Julia taking it all in.

The boys are back in town
It was a mini reunion this past 4th of July with friends we grew up with in Troy. It was great catching up and watching the kids play for hours in the water.
Trevor is helping Landry get acquainted with Andrew.
The boys and their babies. Pete, Anna, and Julia Seifert; Chris and Grace Carr; Travis, Maddie, and Andrew Winslow; Trevor, Teagan and Landry. It's not often everyone is together like this, hope it happens again sooner than later.

Lake time
Jim and Jennifer Seifert were very generous to let us take over their shore for four days. We all grew up swimming in Savage Lake so it was fun to see our kids make their own memories there. Teagan had so much fun on the innertube behind the pontoon boat and jumping off the diving board. Landry had her own fun in the water and was fine as long as we didn't put a life jacket on her and everyone kept their distance.

Kootenai Falls
We took a little hike with our friends the Winslows and Seiferts and enjoyed one of the more beautiful spots around Troy.

Little Hikers
Maddie Winslow, Anna and Julia Seifert, and Teagan had a great hike at the Kootenai Falls. Despite a couple stumbles and an anxious crossing of the swinging bridge everyone had fun. The corner picture shows the kids inspecting a big bug that Pete found.
